Our office is primarily engaged in estate planning and probate. Estate planning generally begins with a meeting wherein we learn about you, your family, your finances, and your goals. We then prepare a living trust and/or a will for you. People with larger estates may also have other more advanced estate planning needs including possibly an irrevocable trust; a family limited partnership; a qualified personal residence trust; etc.
When people die, the estate frequently has to be "settled" and distributed. Probate is the process that occurs when an individual dies and his/her estate needs to be distributed with the assistance of the courts. Most people wish to avoid probate, but sometimes the person who died (the "decedent") did not do estate planning or did not do it as completely as he/she should have.
We provide evening and weekend appointments, and are also available to make home appointments. Whatever your needs, whether it be a living trust, a simple will, a probate, or complicated estate planning, we are here to help.
